Tomorrow Is a Wonderful Day
Tomorrow Will Be a Wonderful Day, 2010
The work "Tomorrow Will Be a Wonderful Day," named after the film by Helmar Lerski, is a monumental photographic project composed of large-scale still photographs. Each photograph is a collage of dozens of small frames, meticulously joined together in a Sisyphean studio process to create a new photographic moment.
By connecting many moments into a single visual one, I examine the complex relationship between Israeli society and its landscapes. The images created from this photographic manipulation—in which groups of people are placed within landscapes loaded with meaning—reveal the connections, tensions, and identities that emerge from these unexpected combinations. This is a visual exploration of how a landscape shapes society, and how society imprints its mark on the landscape.
